ABOUT THE SHOW /
Critical Thinking and the Art of Science is an exhibition pairing artists with scientists to express the underrepresented ideas and concerns of scientists through art in an interactive and thought-provoking way.
Gallery-goers will be presented with large format statements from scientists and immersive artwork directly inspired by scientists and researchers in fields ranging from soft matter research to aerospace engineering and climate science.
We are seeking the input of scientists, researchers, and artists to participate in this show dedicated to critical thinking and educational outreach.

OPEN CALL
The show will consist of two parts: statements contributed by scientists (including researchers, engineers, mathematicians, and practitioners of the hard & soft sciences) and a number of art pieces, each inspired by a unique statement. Each statement should be considered a stand-alone document, succinctly conveying a specific and poignant aspect of scientific study or research. These statements will be laser engraved on wood and will hang in the gallery along with artwork related to the show, and will be gifted to the scientists after the exhibition.
Painters, sculptors, multi-media artists, musicians, and performers interested in bringing attention to pressing scientific issues are encouraged to apply. Participating artists will receive a small honorarium if selected.
